Private

With Hubble's supportive Chat, two persons (known to each other) can chat with each other. No more than two, because a group of people chatting at the same time could easily confuse a person with a disorder in the field of communication.
This and other disabilities can also slow down the communication a great deal. For partners in a chat this is an important thing to know. Therefore the chat is also in private in the sense that only people who know each other, can chat with each other.

Supportive

Hubble Chat is supportive in various ways:

• Symbol users can put a symbol message together, selecting the symbols from a Selection Set.
• People who have difficulty reading can use speech output to listen to the messages that they send and receive.
• With the audio on, your own voice can be heard on the other side.
• With the web cam on, your conversational partner can see you writing or reacting to a message that you receive.
• Instead of web cam images, a photograph can be displayed as a constant reminder of whom you are speaking with.
